Rescue Update

“We” (our neighborhood) still have the cat since HALO was full. This is particularly strange, since they were  supposed to pick him up the day I enticed him into the live trap with some of my Cat-a-bliss blend….Instead HALO said they were full. Would they have had room if they caught him, instead of the neighborhood? It is “kitten season” – did they  have huge drop off?P1180199.JPG
It is very confusing, since HALO initially said they were coming out to get him, then turned around and said they were looking for a fosterhome to take him in because they were full. One neighbor had quite an exciting chat with them.  (Ehem, I hear that the neighbor threw a fit.)  HALO agreed to schedule – and pay for –  a vet appointment. So, he goes to the veterinarian on Monday and  if everything is okay then he will be moving down the street to foster with the neighbor until we find him a good forever home.
He had been living in that gross house, and then crates and laundry rooms since we captured him, so today we put a harness on him, then attached a leash, with the intention of taking him outside — it went better then expected. He seems very trainable. Untitled.jpg
I wonder how this super sweet lovable cat hid for so long. Nobody knew he existed and when we found him no one could get within 10 feet of him – until the Cat-a-bliss, that is.
Purrseidon hates him, so she stayed inside while he was in HER backyard.  As long as he was there, Purrseidon stalked the windows and glared… Meanwhile, Saphera  welcomed him with a wagging tail and invitation to play.

    1. I have never seen Purrseidon act so inhospitable! Don’t know why she’s acting like that -she normally likes everyone except aggressive squirrels. Do you think she knows that cat was given some of her ‘nip?!?

  1. Is he intact? If so maybe its the hormones. Or, when I first brought BobbieSue in the house the cats avoided her like the plague – but once she had the rotting part of her tail cut off they accepted her. May Purrseidon is picking up on some illness and is rejecting him on that smell.

    1. I hadn’t thought of that. I wondered if she somehow knew I’d ‘shared’ HER special ‘nip with that stranger… On Monday, after the neighbor takes him to the vet, we expect to find out if he’s healthy.

      1. Mr. M and Saphera would not bat an eye if the little fellow stayed here until he was settled, however, Purrseidon had a fit over him being on a leash in our back yard… When Ms. Munchkin showed the little guy Purr’s pool, Purr was watching from inside and she went ballistic. She didn’t need to worry – the little guy had the same opinion of her pool as Mr. M.
