Friday Fill-in

This post is part of 15andmeowing & McGuffy’s Reader Friendly Fill-ins Blog Hop and they gave me 4 questions to answer:

  1. I want to stop worrying about things that I can not control (ie: big business not paying taxes, which undermines our economy, as do several other things…) and start focusing on the things that I can control, which will make the world a better/happier place (ie: the contents of this blog & my novels).

MrM+pent2) I haven’t done any yoga stretches in months, but feel better when I make time for that.

3) I believe that Mr. M is my writer’s muse, so wonder why there haven’t been any tuxedo cats in The Sea Purrtector series …

4) My earliest memory is noticing a bittersweet vine with beautiful orange berries.

By the way, if you’re still wondering what Purrseidon & Mr. M were hinting at reviewing for this month, did you notice the open can in the middle of the Mousetrap game? That’s what their attention was on… here is a bigger hint: Mr. M currently ‘owns’ the box, so Purrseidon claimed this one 😉P1180567

Though Jeanne began her career technical writing, her love of romantic-suspense, whether it be present, future or in an unknown galaxy inspired her to write the novels she wanted to find in bookstores. Since marrying, Jeanne and her husband have lived from the arctic to the tropics, as well as from yacht to off-grid mountain home. She loves using vivid colors and flowing shapes in her oil paintings as well as creating edible landscapes. At present, she is finishing writing the Chatterre Trilogy and working on a new episode for The Sea Purrtector Files. You can always find out what she is working on and/or contact her at:

  1. Hiya! We loves your fill in…especially about letting go of stuffs we can’t control like in the Serenity prayer. (God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the ability to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.)

  2. Nice to meet you!Great answers! I need to find a book on Yoga for Arthritis. I would like to try that!
I want to mention that your link did not work when I clicked it. You might want to try that again. It seems that people all over are having trouble with links, lately!
    Have a great weekend! ~McGuffy’s Reader~

  3. Great answers, thank you for participating. The linkies is finally working through my blog- technology confuses me. I agree, better to focus on what we can do than on what we can’t. I see now the box of food you are going to review- I hope it was a hit. Mr. M is a beautiful muse or should I say Mews 🙂

    1. When given promising choice, I choose a wet food because of Mr. M’s kidneys & teeth… those feral years were rough. He has difficulty with kibble, but loves bird, so when we can’t find healthy canned food, we cook chicken for him. … I suspect that Purrseidon could chew up concrete and while she likes canned food, she loves her kibble… and has learned how to open the storage container…

  4. What a great goal you stated for #1! We do tend to get so wrapped up in our frustrations with life and things beyond our control that we forget that we can make a difference at a very personal level – one person and one act of kindness at a time!

You have to very beautiful furkids, who could fail with a muse like Mr M? When any new box comes into my hour all four furkids have to try it out, scrambling to be the next to see if it fits, or more accurately if they can stuff themselves inside! 🙂

    1. P & M were THRILLED with this month’s box because they could both fit at the same time and it smelled wonderful! Mr. M has seniority, so still is claiming it…. today was recycling day, but he wasn’t ready to let it go – yet…

    1. You might like it. Currently, I’m reading Supernormal which suggests that yoga practitioners can achieve special powers… I don’t know about that, but some of the stretches feel amazingly good, so I think I’ve figured out why cats stretch.

  5. Enjoyed your answers Jean. Truthful and to the point. I didn’t realize you were an author. I read to hubby and the girla for an hour or so at night so I must check with Amazon and what you’ve written my friend.

    1. LOL, I’ve been an author for years, simply was a ‘ghost’ who specialized in tech writing. FYI, I give coupons for free downloads to anyone willing to give an honest review. If there is a book that you’d be interested in reviewing, let me know.
For now, have a wonderful weekend!

      1. Wow, a free download. This is a deal I can’t pass up. I will be in touch. I gather this is for reviewing your books only. By the way Jeanne is the way I spell my name too. I should say this is how my name is spelled on my birth certificate but I just cut it down to Jean everywhere else.

      2. Are you French Canadian? My father was from the South of France.
Yes, that deal is only for reviewers – I’ve literally given away thousands of books during promotions, but have only received a hand-full of reviews from that, and reviews – honest ones – are the best way to get the word out to people who will enjoy the book.

      3. I do reviews all the time Jeanne. Whenever I read a book I do a review. I just consider it good manners. Not true….on occasion I have not done a review if I did not think the writer caught my interest or wandered and I found the story lacking. In cases like this I try to get in touch with the author….if the person is reachable and let them know. My intent is to point out the interesting parts of the book.

      4. You do reviews the same way I do. In the past year, there has been one book, which I read, that I did not leave a review for … I did contact the author and explain how to make improvements, but they were very rude and to the best of my knowledge, they haven’t done the simple adjustment, which would make the book go from a 2 to at least a 3, which I would have left a review for…. they want to do it their way. Unfortunately, their way isn’t what people want…

      5. I am looking you up on line and my goodness you are a busy woman. I’m nor French Canadian and live in central northern British Columbia. I know a few French words I remember from high school but if someone attempted to talk to me in French, I’m afraid I would just smile and nod. I was fluent in German after living in Germany as a child but alas, that was many years ago and I only remember certain words. If, I say I will review your book, you can bet your booties I will review your book. This Red Claw looks interesting.
