Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump both generated unflattering headlines about comments. After their first debate, there were comments claiming Clinton relied on a “micro” earbud as she fielded questions about national security. According to Fox News, her campaign vigorously denies this. This photo was offered as proof:
It does look like she might have a hearing aid or something in her ear, but I’m no expert on earbuds and don’t have a clue how one would be used.
What I do know is that when I googled photos of the debate I found this:
In that photo, her hair and dress color look the same, but the necklace is different. So, I don’t know where/when the initial photo showing that pearly thing might have been taken.
The website True Pundit quoted unnamed New York police sources saying Clinton was wearing an “inductive earpiece” during the NBC forum hosted by Matt Lauer. The website described the unit as the kind of tech used by stage actors in need of prompting to recite forgotten lines.
Whether this is fact or fiction she does have a history of twisting the truth, so it sort of made sense when an acquaintenance said, “She’s told so many lies, for so many years that she can’t keep them all straight without outside help… Makes sense why she would need to wear that ear bud.”
