I particularly liked that yoga gif. (and wish I was half as flexible as that!)

Ouch with the frisbee! Hope the dog didn’t knock itself out!

I hope so, too! (there is a reason that I, personally, don’t play with those things)

We used one as a drinking dish for hedgehogs.

I’ve never had a hedgehog. Are they fun pets?

We didn’t actually have them as pets but they were regular visitors to our garden and invited their chums as we regularly put food and water out. They are very partial to peanuts (not the salted kind) and cat food. We could almost tell the time by them, and Hubby set up a detection device consisting of a cotton reel and length of thread across the path. Hedgehog passed across it, cotton reel shot off sideboard, we sat on step and watched. Great stuff. So much better than what was on TV!

I’ve seen photos and they look small – maybe someplace between the size of a mouse and rat. How large are they, actually?

They are bigger than mice or rats, more in line with a rabbit kitten. I did a post on them in my early days

It is surprising how fast they can move when they want to.

They can be real characters as each have a certain charm (as well as fleas!). We’ve seen a couple here on the marina, but overall, hedgehogs are in decline which makes us sad. People put poison pellets down for slugs to protect their crops, but hedgehogs eat the slugs, fall ill, and die. We shall be on the lookout for them this year as apparently there is a protection drive here in town to increase their numbers.

We try to use organic methods in the garden, so if we had a slug infestation, we would be more likely to get hedgehogs (if available) than poison…

Beter plan as the hedgehogs eat the slugs for you, not your veg!
