  1. You would be surprised at how many ‘dog chariots’ there are here. We know of at least 10, where owners take their dogs for walks in a pushchair as they are too old or too arthritic to make a full journey. The dogs are content, very people friendly and have a good quality of life otherwise, they walk should they want to, but when they become tired, into the buggy they go. One little dog is the same age as Maggie and has arthritis in his front legs so unable to climb banks or steep pathways. Once on the prom, he is taken out to sniff to his hearts content, perform his business (they always clear up) and trot along until he gets tired.

    1. When we were living overseas, we went a bit out of our way to meet a couple who were out walking and pushing their Bichon in a baby stroller…. cutest thing! Though their dog looked cute and young, she was elderly and arthritic. That initial meeting turned into an excellent friendship that has lasted for well over a decade. They now live in Canada. Their dear little dog passed a couple years ago, but we all keep in touch… they now are owned by a cat.
