Aww Lemons

UnknownA lemon has more than 100 percent of vitamin C, which helps increase “good” HDL cholesterol levels and strengthen bones.images-1

Vitamin C is also vital to the function of a strong immune system, so adding it to your diet should keep your healthy. The immune system’s main goal is to protect you from illness, so a little extra vitamin C may be useful in conditions like colds, flus, and recurrent ear infections. Plus, citrus flavonoids found in lemons may help inhibit the growth of cancer cells and act as an anti-inflammatory.

So, don’t just think of them when we you want to bring out the flavor of other foods 😉images

    1. it is hot here in Florida, so I’ve been using my gelato machine to make sorbet – Orange juice, lemon juice and honey…. I love the stuff and it is healthy…. must add cinnamon, tomorrow… Sorbet is more ‘fun’ than simple juice.

  1. Lemons are surprisingly good! I always wished I could drink lemon water, so just a slice of lemon in hot water, but I really can’t manage it at all, yuck. However, I’m always super thirsty so by the afternoon I’ve always overdone the 2l water recommendation & I hit the Pepsi Max instead (a bad habit, I know) but I always have a slice of lemon in it now. Does that count? 😉
    Stay safe & well lovely.

    1. We use cider vinegar in some dishes, but we mainly use white vinegar for cleaning glass and stuff… a drop in the water for the steam iron does wonders for wrinkles and some in the rinse cycle of the washer repels stains.
