As I kid, I loved Disney cartoons, as a mom, I had no issues with my kids watching Disney movies, but now that I’m learning more about Walt Disney, I’m wondering if I made a huge mistake. Of course, when I initially stumbled on this tweet (I’m sure it has vanished by now) I thought Wyatt, Austere Deplorable had to be mistaken, so I did some digging… I started by searching (I don’t use google because they don’t seem to be the best search engine – SO, I ‘binged’):

Walt Disney MK Ultra…. yep, loads of info there, too. I still urge you to do your own search, but this documentary exposes dark side of the most famous entertainment company on earth.

I remember hearing something about the Disney “dark side”, but it’s so hard to know what may be truthful and what’s just speculatory nonsense. I’m careful what sites I look at with conspiracy-type stuff so I went on biography dot com –
“While Disney was an innovative and successful man, he was also the subject of many controversies, most of which involved rumors that he was anti-Semitic and racist. These rumors were, and still are, hard to dispel. In the 1930s, Disney attended meetings of a pro-Nazi organization, the German American Bund. He also hosted a known Nazi propagandist and filmmaker, Leni Riefenstahl, and gave her a tour of Disney Studios. To make matters worse, Disney was also accused of perpetuating black stereotypes in his films. But, for all of his critics, Disney also had scores of supporters who claimed he was far from being either anti-Semitic or racist. The debate on Disney’s alleged discrimination and racism continues to this day.”
I’d still say that just because someone has met with pro-Nazi organisations, doesn’t make them racist or Nazi at heart, not at all. It could be the opposite, a guy trying to show a Nazi how stupid his hateful ideology is by showing him the love of Disney cuteness. But we’ll probably never really know. Don’t throw away your Disney collection (might be valuable one day!) I’d still enjoy Disney for all it brought us, and just try to ignore the slightly bitter taste of uncertainty in your mouth afterwards.

While it is fact that each and every one of us is a combination of good and bad traits, and I’d probably like Disney as a person, I have issues with things like mind control, particularly of kids.
