You may have seen some stories in the news lately about small amounts of euthanasia drugs getting detected in some popular pet food brands. How does this type of drug end up in dog and cat food? The answer is obvious but may come as a surprise to many pet owners. A recent article on […]
Hi everyone, Today we’ve got a fabulous infographic on what human food is safe and what isn’t safe for our little friends. Of course the list of “Safe foods” contains items that while safe if stolen from your plate are not exactly on the recommended list of food items for our friends. But since Nubia…
Papaya plants are large tree-like plants, and Nimri is aware how to use several parts of the plant for both culinary and health. She views them as helpful for the prevention of atherosclerosis and diabetic heart disease. They are an excellent source of the powerful antioxidants vitamin C and vitamin A. Some of their nutrients help prevent the oxidation of cholesterol. (Cholesterol only builds up in blood vessel walls after oxidation.)
In some parts of the world, papaya leaves are made into tea to treat malaria and reduce the risk of colon cancer. Papaya contains several unique protein-digesting enzymes which help lower inflammation.. Therefore, people with diseases such as asthma, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis, find a bit of relief from eating this versatile fruit.
The black seeds of the papaya are also edible and have a sharp, spicy taste. They are sometimes ground and used as a substitute for black pepper. Click on the youtube link below to find out how amazing they are for the digestion, liver, etc.

I think Zignature Duck Limited Ingredient Dog Food is Saphera’s favorite food yet!
She was so excited about doing the review that it took all of us to get her to pose. (She also ate whole 2 cans of this pate in under 3 minutes!) Apparently, she likes duck… I think this was the first time she had ever tasted it.
After gulping the two cans down, she pranced through the yard spinning and head bobbing, as if celebrating a good meal.
Dogs are carnivores by nature, so a meat-based diet is good for them This fact goes against what I was told years and years ago, which was basically, “find the dry food with the least protein” … the individual who told me that has had many other ‘bits of wisdom’ disproved. In actuality, dog’s teeth, their digestive systems and even their behavior confirms that they, like cats, are carnivores. Zignature Duck Limited Ingredient Dog Food, is made in the United States and delivers a complete, balanced diet for all sizes and breeds of dogs…. meat is the first ingredient on the label.
Free of the most common potential canine allergens: corn, wheat, soy, dairy, and chicken
- Nutritionally correct ratio of fruits and vegetables rounds out the recipe with powerful antioxidants, and fiber-rich low glycemic carbohydrates
While there is no corn, no wheat, nor soy Zignature Duck Limited Ingredient Dog Food is a proper nutritional blend and they do include some legumes as well as a few fruits and vegetables. Best of all, it works for Saphera’s limited ingredient / grain-free, /gluten-free diet. (That said, after gulping down those two cans, and while prancing and spinning ,she let out some ‘wind’, which may or may not have been due to the legumes, so if/when you get some for your favorite dog, you might want to let them outside for a short while after eating… or perhaps set up your own tent as a dinning area… I shall quickly add that we did NOT do the test outside due to gas – Saphera, Purrseidon and Master Munchkin had set the tent up and were already playing there when I realized I needed photos.)

Saphera was so excited about the scent of Taste of the Wild Wetlands that most of her photos were a blur +she ate the chunks and gravy before we could get a photo of them….Believe it or not, we even tried giving her two cans in hopes she would be calmer for the second… that plan didn’t work, either. I didn’t think you’d want a photo of the sparkling clean bowl after she licked it… Chewy’s ad says, “What do dogs love more than the great taste of fowl?” and judging by the shine of that empty bowl, they’re correct.
Taste of the Wild Wetlands is a blend of duck, chicken, quail and turkey. Plus, it is grain-free , which is what Saphera’s diet requires.
.As per Chewy’s ad, the Key Benefits are:
Grain-free diet with duck, roasted quail and smoked turkey offers a taste sensation for even the most finicky dogs
Complete and balanced formula can also be fed as your pet’s sole diet
Supplemented with vegetables and fruits, this formula delivers antioxidants to help give your furry friend a healthy lifestyle
Formula provides an optimal amino acid profile
Made right here in the USA! …. Made in the USA… that is very important to me because I trust food that is processed here not to have contaminants.
